I came to Karina with a bladder problem which made me feel self-conscious & unable to do the things I wanted to do, even laughing too hard could be a concern. I had been to a doctor who advised me that I would require surgery to correct the problem, he wanted to suspend my bladder which would be major surgery. I would be out of work 4-6 weeks & had no guarantee of success. There would be need to repeat the surgery in 7-10 years. My answer- NO.
I have seen Karina 3 times and the improvement has been wonderful. I felt relief from pressure after the first visit & I can now jog while at the gym for longer than 30 seconds. I'm now confident that I will be able to do jumping jacks, laugh & even cough; should I catch a cold, with no worrying or trying to cross my legs to prevent an accident.

Karina helped me during my chemo treatment. I was scared and anxious about the “life saving poison” I was about to take. I've had a few rounds of physical therapy, been Rolfed more than once, done a lot of Feldenkrais work, I forget what all else. I do a lot of tai chi, and in general physiology, bodywork, and body awareness are my main interests. So, I've had quite a few people work on me, and try to teach me. Most of them were very good, but I really have to say Karina is the best I've ever worked with. I know she does a lot of other stuff; I can only speak to the hands-on work she did with me. I came to her for Foundation Training, but she said, no, you have too much rotation, we need to work on that first. We never got to the FT, but my posture, movement, some of joint problems, and my body awareness improved a great deal. She knows a tremendous amount of stuff and is able to do a lot.
What I had were primarily hands-on sessions, but I think she's a great person and a great practitioner; whatever she does, I'm sure she's really good at it. Can't recommend her too highly.

The connection I made with you was formed during one of my first sessions. The birth of my daughter over 2 years ago had been traumatic in all ways. Physical. Emotional. Spiritual. Everything. I had no time to process any of it because I had a newborn to care for. I had received bodywork that was very helpful to me but until this session I never was able to speak of my daughter’s birth without it being so fresh as if it was happening right at that very moment. The healing that took place during that session was deep and different. It was a very spiritual healing. As I lay on the table you asked me to go back to when my daughter was born. Instead of being separated from her right after she was born, you guided me to go with her and be with her. And I was there. She wasn’t alone. It no longer feels like a fresh wound. The physical healing that accompanied these early sessions was the disappearance of a 6cm cyst on my right ovary, with no medical intervention. Bodyworker...Plain and simply, Karina relieves pain. I tell her where it hurts, she addresses the source of the pain, and I walk away feeling good. For several months I experienced an acute pain along my spine and finally had enough sense to schedule an appointment with her to alleviate the pain. During the session she noted that the source of the pain was the rotation of a part of my spine caused by a constriction in the rib and hip areas. She opened the ribs and hips using deep tissue massage and suggested a more effective posture for carrying my baby. I have had no pain along my spine since that session four months ago. I have a dozen similar stories, where Karina's use of structural massage has obliterated aches and pains.
Labor coach...Karina coached me through 16 hours of my 26-hour labor and delivery. She supported me through the birth process, offering me guidance and gentle care. She reminded me to eat, drink, change positions, walk and--most importantly--to breathe. Of all the folks there to help me through the process (two midwives, their assistant, and my adorable husband), I relied most on Karina for reassurance and comfort. Energy guide...Karina has helped to clear out stagnant energy and to help encourage the flow of healthy energy in my home. I haven't a clue as to how she does it, but whatever she does seems to work. I first went to Karina when I was about 5 months pregnant, I had a very severe pain in my tailbone, which she was able to fix in one session. I continued going to her for nutritional support and body work throughout my pregnancy. The body work was extremely helpful because it helped me breathe better and feel better. I decided to have her act as a birthing coach and this was one of the best decisions I ever made. With her help and the help of the homeopathic remedies she recommended, I had a very pleasant labor experience. My water broke and it felt like I dilated in no time and I only pushed for 30 minutes. She then came to my house for some home sessions to check up on me and the baby and to discuss health and emotional concerns. This was cool too, because no ob/gyn is going to do a home visit. The best part was having somebody there for you while you are giving birth, who will speak your mind to the doctor and others present, talk to your family for you, and be by your side when others may not be. When visiting Los Angeles, Erik and Katie, stayed in a century-old, timber-oak framed, Old World British style home.
